Converting a dashboard into a Report Services document

You can choose to convert a dashboard into a Report Services document. Once converted, each element of the dashboard will be displayed as an object on the document. For example, the Filters panel will be displayed as a grouping of selectors, a Heat Map visualization will be displayed as a Heat Map widget, and sheets within a dashboard will be displayed as document layouts. Pages (also called panels) added to a dashboard will be displayed as panels in a panel stack if you convert the dashboard into a document.

~ If you convert a dashboard that was created using HTML5 into a Report Services document, the converted document cannot be viewed in Flash Mode. If the dashboard contains features such as File and View menus, an Editor panel, and a Visualization Gallery, your dashboard was created using HTML5. An example of a dashboard created using HTML5 is displayed below.

Prerequisites

You must have the necessary privileges to save a document.
You must have the Web Edit Dashboard and Web Run Dashboard privileges.

To convert a dashboard to a document

1 Click the name of a dashboard to run it.
2 From the File menu, select Convert to Document. Or, from the dashboard's toolbar, click the Convert to Document icon Convert to Document icon. A confirmation message is displayed.
3 Click OK. The dashboard is converted to a document and displayed in Design Mode.
4 Click the Save icon Save icon to save your changes.
