Scheduling a report or document to be sent to the History List

You can send a report or document to the History List, a folder where you can store reports and documents, on a specific schedule. To do so, you must subscribe to the report or document, as described in the steps below.

To send a report or document to the History List on a schedule

1 Click the name of the report or document to run it.
2 Do one of the following:
For a document: Click the menu icon Menu icon (the hamburger) on the right, and select Schedule Delivery to History List.
For a report: From the Home menu, point to Subscribe to, then select History List.
* If Distribution Services is not installed and configured, this option is listed in the File menu as Add to History List.

The Subscribe to History List dialog box opens.

3 Type a name for the subscription in the Name field.
4 From the Schedule drop-down list, select a schedule or event on which to deliver the report or document. You can create new schedules in the MicroStrategy Developer Schedule Manager. For steps, see the Scheduling Jobs and Administrative Tasks chapter in the System Administration Guide.
5 To have the report or document delivered immediately after the subscription is created, select the Run subscription immediately check box.
6 Expand the Advanced Options.
7 To ensure that newer versions of the report or document overwrite previous versions of itself in the History List, select The new scheduled report will overwrite older versions of itself.
8 To specify a date after which to stop delivering the report or document, select the Do not deliver after check box, then select the date from the calendar.
9 To have a notification email sent when the report or document is delivered, select the Send notification to email address check box, then do one of the following:
To send the notification to an email address that has already been defined, select an address from the To drop-down list.
To send the notification to a new email address, in the New Address field, type the email address you want to send a delivery notification to and select the email client type of the specified email address from the drop-down list.
10 Click OKto save your changes and close the Subscribe to History List dialog box. The file will be delivered to the specified History List on the specified schedule.

To verify that you are subscribed to the report or document, click the MicroStrategy icon Projects icon at the top of the page and select My Subscriptions. The subscription appears in the History List Subscriptions section.
