In MicroStrategy Web, users can import data from different data sources, such as a database or the results of a SQL query, then create reports, documents, and dashboards to report on their imported data. You can define a new database connection for users to import data from, or edit, delete, rename, or duplicate an existing connection. For more information on importing data into Web, see About importing data into MicroStrategy Web.
You can connect to:
|•||A relational data source. For steps, see Creating a database connection.|
|•||An MDX cube source. For steps, see Creating a data source connection to an MDX cube source.|
|•||A search source. For steps, see Creating a data source connection to a search source.|
After you create a database connection, you can edit, delete, rename, or duplicate it. For steps, see Editing, deleting, renaming, or duplicating a database connection.
